Matero Ltd. was incorporated in 1977 for the purpose of serving the needs of the local Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry for Machinery, Equipment, Spares and Components of the highest quality, at the lowest possible cost. The mission of our Company when it was established, is just as valid today!
Consequently, our portfolio of Brands which we exclusively distribute, includes such renowned trade names as “Tecumseh Europe”, for hermetic compressors, “Bitzer", for semi-hermetic compressors, “Danfoss” and "Castel" for refrigerant flow controls, “Ziehl-Abegg”, for axial and centrifugal fans with external rotor technology, “Roen Est” and "Searle" for heat exchange coils, "AKO Electronica" and "EVCO" for electronic refrigeration controllers. Our complete product range is complemented by products made by a number of other smaller manufacturers.
Focusing on the Customer, we analyze his individual needs, and strive to offer the optimum solution to his every need, whether that may be as simple a matter as providing a replacement motor, or as complicated as writing complete specifications for his proposed cold storage or air conditioning plant.
The registered address of our Company is in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, where our Head Office was until March 1992. Island-wide distribution is covered by delivery of components direct to the Customer’s warehouse or project site, by the Company’s fleet of light trucks and vans.
Late in 1990, Matero Ltd. saw the need for expansion, aiming at improved and faster Customer service. Hence, in March 1992, we inaugurated our Office in Limassol, a sea resort, and the island’s second largest city. Our Limassol premises were specifically designed and built for the business that we are in. As a consequence, the Company’s Headquarters and Financial Control were transferred to Limassol, which is also the port of entry of most of our imports. Evidently, it also made good sense to transfer our central warehouse there, and this is what we did. Our dedicated Engineering Office remained in our Nicosia premises.
In June of 1991, we incorporated our subsidiary Company, Matero Engineering Ltd., which primarily functions as a consulting firm offering to our clientele such services as trouble shooting, equipment sizing and selection, (through the use of dedicated computer software), system design and specifications writing. Should a customer ever require a complete solution, Matero Engineering Ltd can then undertake under a “turn-key” concept, full responsibility for a well executed and well functioning project.
It should be mentioned, however, that the kind of projects that we do undertake as contractors, are ones which generally speaking, are characterized by complexity, either in the way of controls and safety devices, or of the technology of the vital components involved (e.g. screw type compressors) where the level of skill & expertise required is above the ordinary.
A case in point is the fact that we are probably the only contracting company with hands-on experience with the assembly of multi-compressor systems with Screw compressors, which at the present time is state of the-art technology, in as far as refrigeration compressors are concerned.
At the present time, we have complete island-wide coverage by an additional two sales outlets, located in Larnaca and Paphos, for even faster service to Customers.
